Ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Wichita on May 27, 1995, Reverend Daryl W. Befort has faithfully served the people of south-central Kansas for more than three decades. Throughout his ministry, he has embraced a variety of pastoral and diocesan leadership roles, dedicating his vocation to serving both parish communities and the wider Church.

Father Befort began his priestly ministry as an assistant pastor at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Wichita before serving in the Diocese's Chancery as Moderator of Youth and Young Adult Ministry. His passion for strengthening rural Catholic communities later led him to serve as Director of the Office of Rural Life, where he supported parishes and families throughout the Diocese.

Over the years, Father Befort has served as pastor of several parishes, including St. Patrick in Kingman, St. Francis of Assisi in Wichita, and St. Joseph in Andale. In 2024, he was appointed pastor of the parishes of St. Leo (St. Leo), Sacred Heart (Cunningham), St. Peter (Willowdale), and St. John (Zenda), where he continues to shepherd multiple faith communities with compassion, dedication, and a deep commitment to the Gospel.

Known for his approachable spirit and steady leadership, Father Befort values building strong parish families rooted in faith, service, and community. His ministry reflects a lifelong commitment to accompanying people through every stage of life while encouraging them to grow closer to Christ.
